If you're reading this, there's a huge fat possibility that you've been nagged to. Needless to say you felt a grain of pity upon us and checked. For that I thank you!
Anyway, for those who do not know us, let me explain...
DNPD- It stands for Dan & Nathan Paranormal duo.
Not much needs to be explained there, you wipe off the names and you're left with Paranormal duo. Which is pretty obvious!
The reason we've both decided to do this lil ghost hunting thing is simple really. Ghosts fascinate us. And of course we believe in them, otherwise we'd just be a duo of morons looking for nothing in the middle of nowhere. And it may be the immense optimism talking, but I truly do believe that eventually, sooner or later we will come across something. Be that good awesome, terrifyingly awesome or just awesome in only our own eyes seems yet to be discovered.
Another reason is a critical one.
There are tonnes of ghost hunting/paranormal shows out there, or at least potential ones. I'm more than aware of that. But here's the thing with a HUGE bulk of them. (And believe me I've looked)
They're way too prepared. I mean, you see these shows and it's the following things...
6 Cameras
8 Microphones
4 EVP detectors
14 motion detectors
6 heat motion devices
A psychic
A psychics apprentice
a historian
and about 30 team members.
Exaggerated I know! buttttt.......
Seriously!! what the hell?? is it really at all nessicary to take all that stuff, especially the 30 or so team members. I mean, let's just say you do go on a ghost hunt, and find nothing. Dissapointing yes, but you must've had a load of adrenaline from the nervous fear of the event itself. You're not going to have that feeling whilst being surrounded by people, in fact it'll just be more of an irritence, too cramped, and at least half of them would scream at nothing.
Yes, I've seen stuff like this. One gay guy, literally loving the sound of his own voice, whilst his team of 10 girls sit behind him looking deflated and scared.
This is where we want things done differently.
One camera
two people.
That's it. Well, strictly speaking there are more things I'd want, for example a ouiga board. And some simple low budget experiments, like the whole flour on the floor technique.
Also, where DNPD are different, (despite it sounding like a police force). Is our attitude towards the situation.
Running on my own experience, If there's nothing good to be seen on a ghost show, it's relatively, a wasted half hour- hour. This is mainly due to the over the top sense of dread you get from the people in it. You're in a dark room looking for a ghost. I get that, I truly do. But have a bloody sense of humour about it. You can leave at any time, why they choose to act as if that they're going to die within the show is beyond me.
Me and Nath, despite at times being totally petrified (I hope, anyways) will still throw in a joke, have a laugh for good value. People need to take themselves less seriously on these shows, and considering we don't take ourselves seriously whatsoever, it's probably an easy feat.
So I've gone into why we're doing this, and the "Paranormal duo" part of our name, but what about the important part of DNPD. Dan & Nathan?
Well let me introduce you!
I will unbiasedly start with me!
In third person, for some reason....
Dan, is obviously one half of DNPD.He was born and raised in Plymouth. He had ghost encounters from as young as two years old, when his first house was haunted with what he now believes to be a ghost child.
He is twenty years of age, He is loud, animated, happy-go-lucky and quite critical with most situations. He has flamboyant mannerisms that make him out to be gay. However he is straight, to such an extent that he's in a long serving relationship! He rarely takes anything seriously, and sees everything as a potential story to tell, or just a bit of fun.
Since you've read this much, you may as well check out his blog, it's pretty awesome.

And what completes a duo - a second person; here we have Nathan.
Nathan, is of course the second half of DNPD. He was born and raised for seven years in Croydon where he and his family then moved to Plymouth, after taking a year away in Bournemouth he now has his own place back in Plymouth. He is twenty going on twenty one though you wouldn't think it, him being the very childish person that he is. Nathan prides himself on being an outcast from the cool gangs as he happily states that he is some kind of a geek who enjoys playing a lot of computer games. He of the duo actually is gay and happily in a relationship. He is very optimistic and very open minded about all walks of life. Nathan has had many paranormal experiences during his life, whether it be ghosts, odd coincidences or other strange things he's not exactly sure but he's going to one way or another find out.
You can find Nathan's personal blog on
Enjoy it!
